Emery Wayne Burdine, age 84, of Grand Prairie, Texas passed away on Thursday June 25, 2020. Emery was born May 8, 1936 in Amarillo, Texas, the son of Alfred Burdine and Mary Braswell Burdine. Emery married Linda “Jeanne” Burdine and they celebrated 35 years of marriage together before his passing.
Emery proudly served his country in the US Army and the Army Reserves. Following his service, Emery worked in the dental community for over 55 years and was one of the few Master CDT’s. Emery owned his own dental practice for 45 years and was also the past president of the Dental Laboratory Association of North Texas. In his spare time, Emery loved playing golf, watching 007 movies, and having a good laugh. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his family and friends.
Emory Burdine, Master CDT, served as President of DLAT in 2000. Emory was also inducted into the DLAT Hall of Fame in 2003.
55-Year CDT Milestone Pin Recipient
He was always very active at our meetings seen frequently giving the invocation for all attendees before our Annual Awards Luncheon. Last year Emory was honored at out 2019 Awards Luncheon receiving his 55-year CDT Milestone pin. His acceptance speech was so well received by DLAT and NADL that NADL requested an extra interview with Emory that was published in the JDT magazine.

Emery was a great asset and encourager of the Dental Lab Community and will be greatly missed by DLAT past and present officers and members.
Emery is survived by his wife, Jeanne; children Rick Burdine and Holley Johnson; step-children Landon Hutchens, Kyle Reed, Kellee Pope, Tom Pope, and Tracee Smith; grandchildren Lindsay Heinlein, Carleigh Burdine, Brianne Heinlein, Baleigh Ruzicka, Colton Burdine, Danny Burdine, Kaitlen Faulkenberry, Kolby Pope, Kathryn Reed, Conor Reed, Savannah Coleman, Kenneth Pope, Abigail Pope, Keaton Smith, Liam Pope, Kenadee Smith, and Olivia Hutchens; siblings Reatta Wardlaw, Billy Burdine, Steve Burdine, Judy Flowers, and June Hough.
