Thomas John Moore, lovingly known as “Tommy” , age 68, passed away on October 26, 2016. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 5, 2016, at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend, in Waco.

Tommy was born June 28, 1948 in Timmendorfer Strand, Germany. After attending Richfield High School, Tommy served his country honorably the United States Navy until 1968. He went on to marry his high school sweetheart, Sharon, on July 22, 1966. Tommy earned his Associates degree in Applied Science, Dental Laboratory Technology in 1970. In August 1974, he became a Certified Dental Technician. Together Tommy and Sharon owned and operated “Moore Dental Studio” for 30 years.

As a couple they were very active and highly respected in the dental community, participating in the Dental Lab Association of Texas events and creating lifetime friendships that they came to cherish. Tommy served as President for the Association in 2005. Though, Tommy was known for his infectious sense of humor and ability to make others laugh, his insightful conversations and knowledge of many subjects will forever be missed by those who knew and loved him.

Tommy was preceded in death by the love of his life for over 50 years, Sharon Elaine Hack Moore; his father and mother, the late John Thomas and Charlotte Benkhe Moore of Waco; brother-in-law, Billy Wayne Strickland.

Tommy leaves to cherish his memory his sisters, Janett Moore Strickland of Waco, Christy Moore Blackburn and husband, George, of Austin; nephews, Jeremy Williams and wife, Ashley, of New York, Willie Strickland and wife, Lisa, of Paris, Texas; nieces, Debra Strickland, Crystal Mynar, Denise Woodlock and husband, Randy, all of Waco; his pups, Blackie and Brownie; as well as many wonderful friends and family members.
